Many people have asked us how we decided to open a brewery. So let’s go back to the beginning. Erin and I met freshman year of college at Vanderbilt. We became friends and soon started sharing our creative ideas. While our paths separated geographically after college, we remained close. In 2014, we reunited in Atlanta and started home brewing shortly after. Having friends in the industry who started their own breweries, we wanted to learn more about the opportunities here in GA.
Our initial business planning meetings happened around numerous local GA craft beers. If we are being honest, there are some truly great beers produced here, so it was a bit intimidating to first swallow the idea of going into an industry with these peers. But, we like challenges.
Most people ask: Why a brewery? We like the creativity brewing requires. We like trying the beers we make - good and not so good! We think GA has room for another craft brewery. We love the idea of competitors coming together to share ideas, to push each other to innovate, and to support each other. From what we have seen, the craft brewing industry does this.

Jamie Hillegass is our big picture, crazy ideas person. She has never met something she couldn’t paint. She likes to “white board” (as she calls it) ideas to continue to build the brand and innovate. Jamie did product research in college and business school, maybe too much. She met Erin at Vandy where they began their plot to take over the world, Pinky and the Brain style. Her background is in Organizational Development (don’t worry – no one really understands it), HR, and Process Improvements.
Erin Rehm is the money person and the spent grain cookie creator. She likes to run financial scenarios and invent random questions to keep all of us on our toes. She graduated from Vanderbilt with Jamie and likes to remind her that they were NOT friends when they first met. Erin has been a beer aficionado for many years and is always willing to try a new style. She has a background in Financial Operations and Strategic Finance.
